We formed the Friends of the Granite Bay Library over 25 years ago because we believe in the value of our library as a fundamental part of our community. Our mission is simple: to foster the love of literature in the lives of our community members of all ages.
It’s been quite a journey this year with many challenges. In our community, the public school district for Granite Bay’s children (EUSD) no longer offers school library services for at least this school year, and it’s still undetermined for future years. So, now more than ever, it’s important that families take advantage of the materials that are FREE and offered by our public library.
Families can still get library cards and search online to place holds that are easily picked up on site. Library patrons can also place holds for and borrow digital resources that can be viewed or listened to on their personal devices.
Children (and adults) spend hours a day in front of screens, and their only opportunity to obtain books, free of charge, for much needed pleasure reading, is through their local library. Students no longer have access to the materials they have always depended on to support their classroom curriculum (biographies, state reports, ancient civilization projects), yet these resources are still available FREE at the public library.
Granite Bay Library’s shelves are filled with books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs, as well as audible & eBooks, just waiting to fall into the hands or ears of everyone in our community who wants them!
You are the reason we are able to provide more resources. Your donation will help to purchase more needed books and materials. We can’t do it without you.
Thank you for your generosity and dedication to our community.
