Celebrating a Generous Gift Supporting Literacy in Our Community

We are thrilled to announce that The Friends of the Granite Bay Library has presented a $15,000 donation to the Granite Bay Library — a contribution that will directly benefit our local library, support literacy, and enrich the lives of neighbors young and old alike.

The check was presented to the Granite Bay Library with the following in attendance:

  • Suzanne Jones, District 4 Supervisor, Placer County Board of Supervisors
  • Sophie Bruno, Assistant Director of Library Services, Placer County Library system
  • Peter Cardin, Branch Manager at the Granite Bay Library

Also in attendance were board members Debby Bedwell, Allison Armstrong, Susan Basham, Katie Huntoon, Rhonda Tory. Not pictured: Amy Hoddick and Kristin Nix. Photo taken by Pete Belknap of Preston Photography.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, these funds — raised through donations and popular book sales — will help:

  • Expand book collections and literacy resources, especially for children and families.
  • Support library programs that promote reading, learning, and community engagement.
  • Help make the Granite Bay Library a welcoming place for everyone in our neighborhood.

The Friends of the Granite Bay Library have a long history of partnering with the community and the Placer County Library to advocate for literacy and lifelong learning — from book sales to special events that bring readers together.

We thank everyone who contributed — through book purchases, membership support, and generous donations — for helping make this gift possible. Your support ensures that the Granite Bay Library continues to be a vibrant hub of knowledge, imagination, and community for years to come.

Together, we’re turning pages and opening doors to a brighter future.
